Restoran Sun Yau Kee is near to KSL City mall. This restaurant sells Chinese food such as pig miscellaneous porridge, chicken rice, and so on. Walking from KSL City mall only took us about 10 minutes. Along the street are very old low-rise buildings which were built about several decades (a taxi driver told us), so walking to the restaurant was also nice to take a look at the old street.
新友記茶餐室距離KSL City購物中心很近，賣一些華人食物，像是豬雜粥、雞飯等等。從KSL走過去大概就10分鐘而已。沿路是一些低矮的房子，大概都是數十年的老房子，所以邊走還能邊看看這些老舊的建築，也挺不錯的。

Restoran Sun Yau Kee is famous at some degree in that region. We have a chance to visit there because this restaurant is run by my friend's parents. Originally, we go there just for my friend's recommendation. Surprisingly, although this restaurant looks very humble, their food is damn good. We all have a bowl of pig miscellaneous porridge, and my friends individually has herbal tea and barley water. My friend says the herbal tea tasted nice. We think the porridge and herbal tea both taste better than in Singapore. The porridge even makes two Taiwanese (including me) homesick. Also, the chicken is very tender; tastes good. The waiters are Malays but can speak a little Mandarin, and they are so friendly (maybe because I am from Taiwan, where the boss's son was studying). I speak simple Malay phrase like Terima kasih (i.e. Thank you), and they are surprised too....so cute, them. If next time you go to JB, you must go to this restaurant and try their food (especially the porridge)!
新友記茶餐室在當地有點名氣。我們有機會去吃到這家店是因為是我大學同學的爸媽開的。一開始只是因為同學推薦所以去，沒想到外觀看似低調的老店，食物卻超級好吃。我們都各點了一碗豬雜粥，然後我朋友各自點了涼茶和薏米水。我朋友表示涼茶很好喝。我們都覺得豬雜粥和涼茶都比新加坡的味道好。粥更是讓包括我在內的兩個台灣人鄉愁病發（嗚嗚嗚）。雞肉也很嫩很好吃。店員大部分是馬來人，但會講一點點中文，也許因為我來自台灣，是他們老闆的兒子之前在讀書的地方，所以對我們非常好。我也跟他們講一點點很簡單的馬來語，像是Terima kasih (謝謝)，他們就一副很驚訝的樣子，很可愛，哈哈。下次有機會到新山，一定要去拜訪這家店喔（尤其是粥，大推）！
